* Oh, we do like to be beside the seaside, and buyers are happily paying a premium for a glimpse of the ocean. According to analysis by Rightmove, coastal homes with a sea view are priced on average £88,107 higher than those without, a 32% premium.
* The East Midlands leads the regional tide with a 68% premium for sea views, followed by the South West at 44% and Scotland close behind at 43%.
* Sea-view properties are widely regarded as a desirable long-term investment, with enduring appeal linked to their rarity and the lifestyle they offer.
