* World Honey Bee Day is on the third Saturday in August and brings a buzzing celebration for beekeepers, honey lovers, and all things blooming.

* Many home addresses feature bee related names. There are a buzzworthy 498 roads across the country that contain the word ‘Honey'.

* World Honey Bee Day began in 2009, quickly bringing awareness to the benefits and environmental needs of honey bees. There are estimated to be over 270,000 hives in the UK – equivalent to one for every 100 UK households.

* Planting flowers rich in nectar, such as lavender and bluebells, and buying locally sourced honey can all help support these much-loved insects.
